Who we are.
As the story goes, back in 1952 a group of golfers were playing a round on a horrible rainy day. While in the bar, after the round, the bartender told them "you are "nuts" to be playing today" and so the Golf-Nuts Golf Club was born.
We are currently comprised of 24 avid golfers. We play every Saturday starting around 8am at Redwood Canyon Golf Course in Castro Valley, CA. We are a non-profit association and formed to organize and promote golf tournaments for our Members.
When an opening becomes available, new nominees must be sponsored by an Active member.

Annual Memorial Tournament
Since Covid-19 restrictions our Memorial Tournament has become a Member Only event.

This Annual Tournament is usually held in May. This is a great way to enjoy some fun and fellowship on the links as we remember and celebrate past members.
Entry Fee includes Green Fees, Cart, Tee Prizes and Dinner. The Awards Dinner, following the day’s play, is usually at the Redwood Canyon Event Center. In recent years we have had a 8:30am Shotgun starting time. There is prizes for Closest to the Pin on the Par 3’s, as well as a hole-in-one prize. 2018 tournament's format was a Four Person Scramble. Spouses and friends are invited to the Awards Dinner.

This annual event is usually held in September.
Your Entry Fee Includes 3 Nights Lodging, Golf and Cart, 2 Banquet Room Buffet Meals, a Hospitality Suite and Prize Fund per golfer.

Annual "Reno" Golf Trip
August 25-28, 2024
Our Nevada outing has been going on for 30 plus years. This annual event is usually held in August. The outing is limited to 40 Golfers.
Your Entry Fee Includes Monday and Tuesday golf, 3 nights Lodging (Sunday thru Tuesday), a Welcome Social on Sunday Night, and the Awards Banquet on Tuesday Evening. Awards for Multi-Flights are based upon handicaps and Closest to the Pin awards both days

Club Championship (Start Date: Beginning May)
Similar Handicap Grouping • Once grouping round is completed, member with the most wins from each group goes to the Championship round, least wins goes to the DFL round (at that time, it becomes single elimination rounds)
Skin Competition (TBD)
Member that play that date are in the skin competition, if they do not play there is always next year.
Eclectic Best Ball Competition (July and August, total of 8 rounds)
All Saturday GolfNut rounds played will be counted for your eclectic score
