The “Local Rules” are designed to speed up play and define areas of questions where stakes are not present. They will be used in all WPGC tournaments. Please follow the applicable USGA rule for procedures and steps when executing said rule. If in doubt during tournament play finish the hole playing two balls. Record both scores then present the case to the tournament committee before turning in your score card for the round.

Hole # 1: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek down the entire right side of the hole is to be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• Left of the Cyclone Fence is out of bounds with the fence as the boundary line.
• The ditch on the left of the cart path all the way up the hill to the fence is a “Drainage Ditch”
• A ball hit left of the fence up the left hand side of the hill is “Out of Bounds”
• A ball hit into the wilderness along the left side of the fairway extending past the green is to be played as a possible “Lost Ball”.
Hole Tips: Staying center and left on this hole keeps you away from the creek that runs down the entire right side. A solid drive can set you up for a mid to short iron to the green in two.
Hole # 2: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek left of the tee box to the first bridge in front of the tee box is to be played as a “Water Hazard”.
• The creek from the first bridge extending past the green is a “Lateral Water Hazard”.
• A ball hit into the wilderness along the left side of the fairway extending past the green is to be played as a possible “Lost Ball”.
Hole Tips: For this dogleg right hole, stay short of the hill for a level lie. Your approach shot should be center and left to avoid trouble on the right.
Hole # 3: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek down the right side of the tee box to the bridge crossing to the 7th hole is to be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• The creek between the bridge on the right crossing to the 7th hole and the first bridge on the left is to be played as a “Water Hazard”.
• The creek from the first bridge on the left extending past the green is to be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”.
• The hill and wilderness area down the left side of the tee box extending to the 4th tee box is to be played as a possible “Lost Ball”
Hole Tips: Avoid left and long with your tee shot, it will usually find the creek on this hole. A ball to the center of the green will set up that birdie attempt.
Hole # 4: Modified 11/15/13
• The hill and wilderness area down the entire left side of the hole extending past the green is to be played as a “Possible Lost” Ball.
• The ditch in front of the tee box is to be played as a “Drainage Ditch”
• The creek down the right side of the hole is to be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• The ditch crossing the fairway near the 150 yard maker is to be played as a “Drainage Ditch”
• The creek behind the green bordering the 5th hole is played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
Hole Tips: Be careful of the creek running down the right side. Hit 2nd shot left of center to stay on upper fairway. Make sure your approach shot stays below the hole. Green slops from left to right.
Hole # 5: Modified 11/15/13

• The wilderness area behind the green is to be played as a possible “Lost Ball”
• Redwood Road is “Out of Bounds” defined by the fence
Hole Tips: Check the wind direction on the trees, if blowing; it has a tendency to knock the ball down.

• The wilderness down the left side extending past the green is as a possible “Lost Ball”
• The creek left of the tee box extending around the front of the tee box to the first bridge is played as a “Water Hazard”

• The ditch behind the green is to be played as a “Drainage Ditch”
• Redwood Road is “Out of Bounds” defined by the fence.

Hole # 7: Modified 11/15/13
• The wilderness area on the left side is played as a possible “Lost Ball”
• The creek on the right is played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• Redwood Road is “Out of Bounds” defined by the fence.
Hole Tips: A narrow tee shot, again stay left center. The creek on this hole is only a few paces from the right side of the green. Check wind direction, you may want to club up. Left side opens up slightly past the green side tree.
Hole # 8: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek down the right is played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• The wilderness area on the left is played as a possible “Lost Ball”
• Redwood Road is “Out of Bounds” defined by the fence
Hole Tips: A good drive right center leaves a short iron to the green. Avoid the trees on the left. One of the few holes on the course where the creek does not come into play. A good scoring hole.

• The creek down the right is played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• The wilderness area on the left is played as a possible “Lost Ball”

• Beyond the cyclone fence behind the green is “Out of Bounds”
• Redwood Road is “Out of Bounds” defined by the fence
Hole Tips: Left center drive works best on this hole. Again, trees and the creek on the right should be avoided. A solid wood down the middle of the fairway for your second shot will leave you a wedge to the green.
Hole # 10: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek and wilderness area left of the tee box to the intersection of the creek in front of the tee is “Out of Bounds”
• The creek in front of the tee box extending to the pump (pipe sticking up) is played as a “Water Hazard”

• The creek from the imaginary line of the bunkers around back of the green will be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”.
• A ball finishing across the creek anywhere along the left and around the back of the green is “Out of Bounds”.
Hole Tips: A right center drive will leave you a mid iron to the green. Avoid the creek on the left and the trees on the right. You have the large fairway here, use it.
Hole # 11: Modified 11/15/13
• The creek on the left to the 1st bridge that crosses the 11th fairway is a “Water Hazard”
• The creek from the 1st bridge crossing to the 11th fairway is a “Lateral Water Hazard”

Hole # 12: Modified 11/15/13
• Starting from the back of the 11th green the small ditch down the left side of the fairway expanding to the large ditch extending past the green is a “Drainage Ditch”.
• If no definable ditch is present then the area is deemed to be “Out of Bounds”
• The ditch(s) or drains that cross the fairway will be played as “Drainage Ditches”
• The ditch between the 13th tee box and the 12th green is to be played as a “Drainage Ditch”
• The ditch behind the green is a “Drainage Ditch”. • Beyond the ditch behind the green is “Out of “bounds” • A ball left of the drainage ditch and into the wilderness area down the left side extending past the green is “Out of Bounds”.
Hole Tips: For long hitters, a left center drive leaves you a wood to the green in two. You have a wide fairway.

• The creek in front and extending to the bridge crossing to the 15th tee is a “Water Hazard”.
• The creek past the bridge crossing to the 15th tee is a “Lateral Water Hazard”
Hole Tips: Stay left center of green with your drive. Fairway opens up to the left after trees. Secondary set of "hidden" trees left off tee. Avoid trees down the right side. Green slopes on all four sides.
Hole # 15: Modified 11/15/13
• “Blue” tee is defined by a line from the NCGA disk to the 150 yard pole in the 14th fairway.
• The Creek in front of the tee box to the first tree across the creek is a “Water Hazard”.
• The Creek from the first tree across the creek all the way around to the bridge in front of the 16th tee is a “Lateral Water Hazard”
• The wilderness area left of the creek extending to the bridge crossing to the back of the 17th green is to be played as a possible “Lost Ball”
Hole Tips: A left center drive sets you up for a mid to short iron to the green. Trees guard green on both left and right. Your best play is to shot your approach shot to the center of the green no matter where the pin
Hole # 16: Modified 11/15/13
• “Blue” tee is defined by a line from the NCGA disk to the water fountain located behind the 15th green.

• The fence protecting the 16th green is an “Obstruction Necessary for the protection of the players”. We will however allow swing, stance and line of site relief.
• The service road adjacent to the 18th fairway and anything right of it extending to the Blue NCGA Disk on the 18th tee box is “Out of Bounds”.
• The area from the Blue NCGA Disk on the 18th tee extending past and behind the 17th green is in play with the wilderness along the hill and back of the green played as a “Lost Ball”
• The creek down the left side is a “Lateral Water Hazard”
Hole Tips: A right center drive leaves a short iron to the green. Green slopes severely back to front and right to left.
Hole # 18: Modified 11/15/13
• The road left of the tee box leading up to the Pavement on the maintenance facility is Deemed to be “Out of Bounds”
• The white stakes along the left side of the entire fairway define the “Out of Bounds”
• In the absence of white stakes the edge of the pavement of the maintenance yard as well as the parking lot define the “Out of Bounds”.
• Anything on or beyond the cart path leading to the 10th tee around the practice green to the bridge crossing to the 10th tee will be played as “Out of Bounds”.
• The creek from the bridge crossing to the 10th tee continuing around and down the length of the 10th fairway will be played as a “Lateral Water Hazard”
Hole Tips: This dogleg left can be reached in two if you have the nerve to cut the left corner. Too far left and you’re OB. Avoid the bunker on the left with your approach show.
